Hays Client with international interests are recruiting a Desktop Engineer to work with the Desktop Engineering team on a 3 month contract.
The successful individual will support and maintain a number of enterprise toolsets and the provision / support of various services such as
* Lifecycle Management toolsets including Altiris and SCCM
* Software integration, packaging and deployment using Altiris and Wise Packaging Studio
* Software and Hardware Asset Lifecycle management
* Standard and custom operating system builds
* Patch Management - Windows Servers and Desktops
* Support and implementation of Symantec Anti Virus technologies including Symantec Endpoint Protection administration
Technical Knowledge
* In depth knowledge of software packaging (wise package studio) and Windows Installer technologies
* In Depth knowledge of Enterprise software management and deployment (preferably via Altiris)
* Experience of Altiris Deployment and Notification systems and associated components
* Experience of hardware independent image builds
* Knowledge of basic scripting (VBScript, Wise etc.)
* Experience Active Directory and Group Policy
* Experience of patch management
* Experience of asset lifecycle management
* Experience of Symantec Anti-Virus technologies and management infrastructure
* Working knowledge of basic networking principles
* Knowledge of Remedy toolset
